Joined the 30by30 Alliance

Coming Soon LLC has joined the 30by30 Alliance, whose secretariat is run by the Ministry of the Environment of Japan.

What is 30by30

30by30 is a goal to effectively conserve at least 30% of land and sea as healthy ecosystems by 2030. It is one of the targets of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework adopted at COP15 in 2022, and Japan has made it part of its National Biodiversity Strategy 2023-2030.

Alongside expanding protected areas such as national parks, Japan certifies nearby nature that companies and communities have long looked after as Nature Symbiosis Sites, widening the circle of conservation.

About the Alliance

The Alliance is a voluntary group of companies, local governments, NPOs and others working toward 30by30. Members support the expansion and management of protected areas and Nature Symbiosis Sites, and share what they do.

Our commitments

As a member, we commit to the following two:

• Aim to expand protected areas, and support their expansion
• Support the management of protected areas and of areas registered, or expected to be registered, in the international OECM database

An OECM is an area outside protected areas that contributes to biodiversity conservation. In Japan these are certified as Nature Symbiosis Sites.
